Fasting !!!
Fasting means to not eat anything at a period of time, so if it is Yom Kippur, you have to fast for a day. I try to fast each year but I can't quite always do it for the whole 24 hours
Suggestions:
- Your family should cook up a good meal, and when I mean good, I mean to cook up a huge meal because you are going to be really hungry the next day if you can't eat a big meal the night before that
- When you are fasting, you can't even drink a glass of water because that wouldn't be fasting now would it?
- When you are done fasting during Yom Kippor, you should eat another good meal because you are going to be starving
Why you fast
It is believed that to fast on Yom Kippor is to emulate the angels in heaven who do not eat, drink, or wash.
Why do you think we fast on Yom Kippor? If you have any other ideas, you can edit this page:)
What you should do on Yom Kippor:
- You should have fun on Yom Kippor becuase it is a day of forgiveness, and you should have a good time with your family
- You should try to fast at least 12 hours becuase most of the time when you fast, you are sleeping; if you usually have a 12 hour sleep, you are fasting for 12 hours
- Go to services with your family becuase even though services are kind of long, you should still go!!!
- Spend time with your family and friends if you could; remember Yom Kippor and other special holidays might be on a school day, so you might skip school!
- Eat HALLAH!!!!!!
- Have F-U-N...FUN!!!!
